2. How a QR code install actually works (30 seconds)

After payment you receive an email with a single-use QR code. Do not share it; once scanned it binds to that phone. Then:

  1. Display the QR code on a second screen (laptop, tablet, friend's phone)
  2. On the phone that will run the eSIM, go Settings → Cellular → Add eSIM
  3. Aim and scan; label the line (Travel, Work, Backup)
  4. Confirm and you are back on the home screen with signal

6. What happens when data runs out

Total-volume plans ("7 days, 3GB") usually just stop and let you top up.
